It's easy to become a member of the Queen's Swing Club! Attend one of our weekly lessons/dances and ask for a membership card. Our weekly beginner lessons are held in Wallace Hall on Mondays from 8-9 pm!
The Queen's Swing Club offers one of the cheapest membership rates among all university swing clubs in Canada! For 2007-2008, our membership rate is $10 for everyone, be they student or Kingston community member.
Memberships are valid for one school year (September to April). You will receive free admission to all of our weekly swing dances and reduced rates on our special events. Club money is used for purchasing equipment, music (much of it is donated or borrowed), refreshments, and hiring workshop instructors and bands. It is a priority for the QSC executive to make the club well worth the small fee.
Not sure if you want to invest your hard-earned cash just yet? No problem. Simply pay a drop-in fee of $2 each time you come to swing. If you decide you want a membership the same night after paying a drop-in fee, we'll refund your $2. And think about it... At a drop-in rate of $2 a pop, if you come to 5 or 6 lessons/dances over the course of the year, you will have already paid off your membership!
