Heyo! I'm Kris Bergmann, and I am running for President. This past year I served as Treasurer for the QSC, which has been a great experience. Having an understanding of the finances of the QSC is one reason why I believe I would do well as President. I love to dance, and I hope I can show it, not only on the dancefloor, but also by helping to make the QSC as good as it can be.
Hey! I'm Kris Bergmann, and I'm also running for Dance Instruction Coordinator. I've been dancing with the QSC since October 2006, and have been an instructor since spring of 2007. I really enjoy teaching, and I think that although I have much to learn, I want to make a teaching schedule that reflects the needs of the swing scene here in Kingston, without forgetting that we're all here because we love to dance.
Why, hello! My name is Courtney Suthern and I would love to be Vice President again next year. I had so much fun this year that I can't imagine doing anything else! I now know exactly what I should be doing and am confident that next year will run much more smoothly because of this. I was bit by the swing bug in 2005, and not a day goes by where I don't think about swing dancing in all its wonderfulness. All I want is the chance to continue spreading the love of this awesome dance, and I feel that Vice President is the best form in which I can so do.
My name is Rachel and I'm running for Queen's Swing Club treasurer. Even though I started dancing less than two years ago, it didn't take long for me to get more and more involved with QSC. As a swing rep this year, I have had an awesome time getting to know all the new people who have joined us this yearÉyou really make my job so much fun! I have been eager to take on extra responsibilities as needed, from taking minutes and compiling feedback forms to coordinating billeting for the Andy and Nina workshop. Furthermore, being on exec this year has given me insight into the planning involved in keeping everything running smoothly and in organizing events. Now that I have a better idea of how things work, I'd really like to take on an even more active role for next year. I'm organized and responsible Ð two traits that I think are essential for anyone taking care of the membership money that you give us so that we can make each year even more exciting than the year before. I'm also approachable and friendly, and I'm eager to continue to do my part on the QSC Exec! :)
Ahoy, there. I'm Josh Pratt and I'm running for the positions of Music Manager and Dance Instruction Co-ordinator. I have been in love with swing music for several years now, and dancing for three or so. I really enjoy teaching and DJing, and thus spreading the love of the music. I have learned to enjoy a variety of styles in both dancing and music, which has deepened my appreciation for swing. I like to think I'm good with people, which would be an asset when dealing with teachers and DJs old and new, as well as potential bands and the like. I look forward to another great year at swing, and hope I'll help to make your year outstanding.
Hello!^^ My name is Katerina Petrovski and I am running for Graphics of 2008/2009. This year I was a part of the QSC as a swing representative, which greatly influenced me in the mechanics of how the QSC is run. I believe that I would be the perfect candidate for Graphics since I am very creative, motivated and have had practice with programs/devices such as Photoshop, paint and digital cameras. That being said I have also had a lot of experience creating posters and other forms of commercial media. For instance I created posters/tickets for the drama and music events held at my high school, and this year I designed the poster I used when running for an executive position within the MCRC.I know that if I was elected for this role not a poster/ticket/t-shirt/registration form/etc. will be created without a stamp of original creativity.
My name is Lionel Marks, and I would like to be a swing-rep next year. I like helping others with random tasks and enjoy dancing with beginners. Helping out with swing dancing has been something I have wanted to do for the longest time, but next year being my last year at Queen's, I'd love to give something back to the swing club which has given me so many happy times.
O hai! I'm Fred and I'd really like to be a swing rep. I've had some experience on a club exec at RMC, and I'm fairly good with random admin and other odd jobs. More importantly, I LOVE dancing and as you all should have noticed by now, I'm ALWAYS around—come rain, come shine, come snow, come sleet, the show must go on! So, please give me a chance to give a little back to QSC in my last year in the Limestone City.
Hi! My name is Alice Wismath, and I would LOVE to be a swing rep. next year. Why, you ask? Because I love swing! (and dancing in general) I love the music, the pulse, the streeeeeeeeeetch, all of it! I've been dancing swing pretty regularly since about October now, and I love being a part of the QSC! I'm sure next year will be even better! I would make a great swing rep. because I'm friendly and easy to talk to, and I have lots of energy and enthusiasm! (Sometimes maybe a little too much enthusiasm...I've been known to do random tiger jumps and to try and gallop through doorways.) I'm going to come to all the events and lessons and things anyways, so you might as well just let me be a swing rep.
P.S. Did I mention I love swing?!
Hey there,
I'm Jason, and I've been with the club for a year now and I'd really enjoy the opportunity to do more to help. I'm interested in running for swing rep next year, because I love the dance, I'm always willing to learn something new, and I like doing odd jobs. Though I haven't been with the club that long, Swing is definitely one of the most fun things I've done in my time here at Queen's, and I'd really like to do my part.
